Babcock Ranch is a new master-planned community under development with environmental responsibility at its core. The 17,000-acre solar-powered city is located near Fort Myers in Charlotte County and only minutes from interstate 75. The town is situated next to a 73,000-acre nature preserve with portions of the land to be opened for fishing, horseback riding, camping, and hunting. At the center of Babcock Ranch is its downtown area named Founder's Square. Founder's Square is the social hub of the community, offering a grocery store, ice cream shop, restaurant, fitness center, splash pad, and boardwalk. Curry Creek Outfitters is located downtown and caters to bikers, kayakers, fishermen, bikers, boasters, and even rents solar golf carts. The community also organizes weekly, monthly, and annual events to keep it's residents busy through any season.
There are currently seven subdivisions being built in Babcock Ranch. Buyer's housing options include single-family homes, condos, coach homes, and carriage homes. As of March 2020, Babcock Ranch has surpassed it's 600 homes sold milestone.
